Shares of Vir Biotechnology were down 44.90% on Thursday after the company announced phase 2 trial results for an influenza A therapy candidate. Vir announced that VIR-2482 failed to meet efficacy endpoints in a phase 2 trial for treating influenza A. The highest dose showed a non-statistically significant 16% reduction in illness. Disappointingly, VIR-2842 is the company's sole wholly owned candidate.
