Shares of Sasol Ltd ADR (SSL) dropped by 4.97% from $11.86 to $11.27 in the trading on Wednesday, November 22, 2023. The reason why SSL is down today is due to new Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) signed by Air Liquide and Sasol with Mainstream Renewable Power. These PPAs involve the supply of renewable power to Sasol's Secunda site in South Africa, where Air Liquide operates a massive oxygen production facility. These agreements are part of Air Liquide's efforts to reduce CO2 emissions in Secunda by 30% to 40%. Mainstream Renewable Power will build a solar farm in South Africa's Free State province as part of these PPAs, set to start operating in 2025.
