- Reason for Selloff: The stock's selloff was triggered by the company's disclosure of revenue and sales volumes for the previous two months, which was made after the market closed on Tuesday.
- Fourth Quarter Forecast: Mosaic also provided its forecast for the fourth quarter. It anticipates that potash sales volumes and MOP (Muriate of Potash) prices at the mine will be near the low end of the previous guidance range of 2.4 million to 2.6 million tonnes and $235 to $260 per tonne, respectively. For the phosphates business unit, sales volumes are expected to be near the low end of the previous guidance range of 1.6 million to 1.8 million tonnes. Realized DAP (Diammonium Phosphate) prices at the plant are estimated to be within the previous guidance range of $530 to $580 per tonne.
- Concerns About Fertilizer Shipments: Additionally, the company raised concerns that fertilizer shipments to Brazil could be threatened by dry weather conditions during the fourth quarter.
