Cadence Design Systems Inc has split its stock 4 times since its initial public offering (IPO). The first stock split occurred on May 24, 1988 with the ratio of 12-for-11, meaning that for 11 shares of CDNS owned pre-split, shareholders then owned 12 shares. 3 more splits have been implemented since then. The most recent stock split took place on November 17, 1997 on a 2-for-1 basis.
These splits have increased CDNS stock's liquidity and made it more appealing to a larger group of investors. However, it's important to remember that these actions only change the number of shares and the price per share with no impact on Cadence Design Systems Inc's total market capitalization.

The answer will depend on the decisions of the company's managers and market volatility. Cadence Design Systems Inc has not made an official announcement regarding whether it will enact a stock split or reverse stock split, but it has a history of doing so when CDNS stock prices become too high or too low for retail investors. Therefore, the ultimate decisions will certainly be made by Cadence Design Systems Inc's board of directors. Typically, no action is taken until its price per share reaches a specific threshold.
