ArcelorMittal SA Stock (MT) dropped by 2.98% from $22.14 to $21.48 in the trading on Monday October 30, 2023. The reason why MT stock down today is due to asset take over after the fire. Kazakhstan nationalized an ArcelorMittal unit following a mining fire that killed at least 42 people and left four others missing. It is unknown whether the government intends to pay for its assets. The government has already begun talks with potential buyers to buy out ArcelorMittal for failing to meet investment obligations and safety violations.
